John Bunn is found on the 1810 Census of Anson Co., NC. Ancestry Image 3 of 31.

            1 male 0 thru 9                     1 female 0 thru 9

            1 male 26 thru 44                 1 female 26 thru 44

                                                1 female 45 and over

This would indicate that John Bunn and wife had 2 children, 1 boy and 1 girl. Both children were born between 1800 and 1809. Plus there was an older female in the house who probably a mother or mother in law.

John Bunn is found on the 1820 Census of Hickman County, Tennessee. Ancestry Image 13 of 26.

            1 male under 10                    4 females under 10

            1 male 10 to 16                     1 female 10 to 16

            1 male 26 to 45                     1 female 18 to 26

This would indicate that John Bunn was a widow with 2 sons and 6 daughters. From the 1810 census we can speculate that the male(0 thru9) is the same male (10 to 16) on the 1820 census. This would mean that the male was born between 1804 to 1810. David T. Bunn was born in 1809 in NC. From the 1810 census we can speculate that the female (0 thru 9) is probably the female (18 to 26) on the 1820 census. From the 1810 census this girl could not be born before 1800. This would indicate her age to be 18 or 19 and born 1800 to 1802. It is possible that this female (18 to 26) could be a second wife of John Bunn and not the daughter (0 to 9) on the 1810 census. For now I am going with the daughter idea and not the second wife idea. On the 1820 census, if the female (18 to 26) is the female on the 1810 census then the female on the 1820 census (10 to 16) would have been born in 1810 after the census were taken. James "Redmon" Bunn was born 14 March 1818 in NC, so he would be the male (under 10) on the 1820 census. This would indicate that John Bunn left NC sometimes between March 1818 and before the 1820 census to move to Hickman Co., TN.

John Bunn is found on the 1830 Census of Hickman County, Tennessee.

            1 male 15 to 20                     1 female under 5

            1 male 50 to 60                     1 female 5 to 10

                                                2 females 10 to 15

                                                1 female 40 to 50

This would indicate that John Bunn had probably remarried. Looking back to the 1820 census we have 4 females under 10. On the 1830 census we have 2 females 10 to 15. So we can say that 2 of the females from 1820 were born from 1815 to 1820. The other 2 females from 1820 were born from 1810 to 1815 and were not listed on the 1830 census.  John Bunn can not be found in TN after the 1830 census.

While looking at the above census' we can speculate that the oldest son of John Bunn was born between 1804 and 1809. John Bunn's oldest son David T. Bunn was born in 1809 in North Carolina. Also in looking at the above census of the females, we can say that John Bunn probably fathered 8 girls. From the 1820 census we know that he had 6 girls, 4 were born between 1810 and 1820, 1 was born between 1806 and 1810, 1 was born between 1796 and 1802. From the 1830 census we can say that the 2 females of 10 to 15 years old were on the 1820 census. The other 2 females, 1 under 5 and 1 that is 5 to 10, are probably daughters of John Bunn second wife or third wife, Nancy Unknown. Elizabeth Berry Bunn, wife of James Rogers, was born about 1822, making her the female (5 to 10) on the 1830 census. Martha Bunn, wife of Smith Kellum, was born about 1825, making her the female (under 5) on the 1830 census.
