Notes for Clemons Bunn

From the book "The Fritts (Fritz) Family Heritage Vol., II, 1999. Authors - Fritts (Fritz) and Allied Families. Compiled and Edited by Gregory A. and Patricia A. Fritts.

Page 1203, "Clemons Bunn, probably a descendant of Benjamin Bunn. There is a "History of Bunn Family of America", by James Alfred Ellis (pub. 1928). It appears that several of the Bunn family traveled from Virginia to the wake Co., North Carolina area. On page 312, of that history, we find "Clemons Bunn", b. 1811, Raleigh, North Carolina. He was probably a descendant of Benjamin Bunn, through Budd Bunn or Cade Bunn. No record of his marriage has been found. It listed no wife by name, but did list eleven children.
What we know of Clemons and family including Bible has Clemons, b. 11 July 1814. md. Siddle (Lydia) Powell on 2 Mar 1831, location unknown. Clemons d. 15 Nov 1881, and bur. Glenmary, Scott, TN. Siddie (Lydia) Powell was b. 6 Jan 1816, NC and d. 17 Dec 1881, one month after her husband and bur. near him. Siddie was half-Indian according to tradition.
The Roane Co., TN 1850 census indicates that dau. Anna Eliza, age 2y was born in NC thus the family traveled to TN between the fall of 1848 and early spring of 1850. The census spell David's name as "Bunn" and Clemons as "Burns"."
