Jesse Bunn served in the Revolutionary War (p. 1023, Vol.
16, State Records of North Carolina). He
enlisted in 1782 for a period of 18 months and was a Private in Raiford's Co. 19th Regt. of NC
Continental Lines (Abraham Shepard, Col.)
and he was discharged from service in 1783.
Jesse owned in excess of 1000 acres of land in Wake and Franklin
counties of North Carolina. Most of his property lay along the Moccasin Creek
that divided those counties.
Jesse Bunn is the father of Green Walker Bunn, for whom Bunn,
NC was named.
