Notes for Thomas Newton Bunn

From the obit of Elizabeth Bunn, wife of Newton Bunn, we must conclude that Newton Bunn died about 1853. the obit states that Elizabeth Bunn was left a widow when her oldest child was 6 years old. This child being John James "Jim" Bunn who was born 12 June 1847.

Thomas Newton Bunn name has only been found as Newton Bunn. There are several reason I have put the Thomas in Newton Bunn name. First Newton Bunn brother George Washington Bunn named a son Thomas Newton Bunn. It was quite common for someone to name a son after a uncle. Newton Bunn also had a son he named Thomas Newton Bunn. This Thomas should be listed as Jr.. Newton Bunn had a son, John James "Jim" Bunn, who had a son named Thomas Newton Bunn. This Thomas. son of "Jim" Bunn was sometimes refered to as Thomas Newton Bunn the third. For him to have been the third, his uncle would have to be the second and his grandfather would have to be Thomas Newton Bunn the first. Thus the addition of Thomas to Newton Bunn's name. Sure wish I could find proof of this instead of using reasoning.
